After producing two extremely pricely 50-cm Dollfie-wannabes of Kanu Unchou and Linn Minmay; and three lusciously poseable 1/7 scale babes: Motoko Kusanagi (GITS), Ryomou Shimei (Ikkitousen, with one annoying exclusive) and Reina (Queen's Blade)...
As it seems; Yamato had decided to drop the "VMF" (Variable Motion Figure) line after their super delayed Queen's Blade Reina VMF.
Instead, they are now going on a real war with Square-Enix Play Arts "KAI" with their very own "VMF KAI" entitled ~
CEA = Creative Evolution Action Joints.
CEA are in the same scale as VMFs, being 1/7th. The forerunner is the Japanese Elf Ignis-chan whose depicted scantier-clad clothing is seen in an illustration by RESS. The same illustration was the former inspiration of an earlier Creator's Labo Figure featuring Ignis being attacked by a giant tentacle which she loathes so much (according to her official profile).
You can see that the joints are well-hidden and that the stand "had been inspired" by Figma.
If CEA is KAI to Yamato, I'd say this is also the REAL KAI to me.
As much as I hate to admit it; Square-Enix's Play Arts KAI are just a bunch of Yamato VMF-wannabes who copied concepts from VMF and Figma (READ this to know WHY).
Having well-hidden joints and a new joint system...with perhaps copied base (JUST THE BASE) from Figma and Tamashii Stage Act 2 ~ That's real improvement.
Now then, it won't be long before Square-Enix will revise their KAI line to make way for CEA-wannabes.
Thanks for the heads up, L.C-kun! :D
