Dragon Quest Legend Items Gallery Report

See? They need their trusty Dhoulmagus pwners!

Following the acquisition of the Hagure Metal Arms, here, I present a partially-complete list of all four volumes of the Dragon Quest Legend Items Gallery.

Dragon Quest Legend Items Gallery was released as a four volume separate toy line by Square-Enix from December 2004 to early 2006. Each weapon is of high quality, exquisite detail, faithful sculpting and accurate painting. One blind box retails for 525 Yen and usually comes with one to two items at most with some having three items; a brick and wood-like display stand and a card detailing the weapon's name and the rest of the items in the set.

Yes, they're compatible.

These weapons about 1/10 scale and are fully-compatible with the Dragon Quest VIII Play Arts Action Figures and the Full Metal Alchemist ones. Other than that, these would look nice with any six to seven inch action figures (Revoltechs, Figmas, Busou Shinkis, Marvel Legends and what-not) of your choice. However, some Bostick or Faber Castell Blu-tack is required if the figure lacks some extra pair of hands.

Many thanks to Tsuki-board for hosting the Legend Items Gallery in their database. :D

Some information like the names may have not been determined yet or some entries like the secret items lack pictures. If you have some information about the missing details, please assist by commenting on this entry or editing that corresponding link. Thank you in advance!

Having chronicled (partially) all of the Legend Items Gallery in this entry; it makes me wish and wonder if Square-Enix would push through with a fifth volume in the near future as more great items needs to be materialized in glorious plastic form. It's been three years, yes, but I'll still be hoping for the Dragovian Sword and Armor from Dragon Quest VIII.

...and Square-Enix. Please stop making those Play Arts Arms sets if they're just going to be exclusives. It's annoying.

Hagure Metal Arms GET!

The final volume of the Dragon Quest Legend Items Gallery called "Hagure Metal Arms."

Yes, you heard that right: Tifa Compatible.

Hagure [ はぐれ ] means "Missing" as Yes-Asia had translated it; leading some people like me to believe that the whole deal is missing something (ie: "Missing Metal Arms"). Hagure could also mean "Rogue" or "Stray" if you'll take in mind how Final Fantasy XII translated the name of that darned Tomato. The cards that came with the figure translates the "Hagure" as "Lone Metal Slime."

Acquisition List
I obtained these as a set of 14 courtesy of my friend Hikari03. Thanks a lot, dude! :D Click on the crosses for the pics.

+ Giant Scissors and Lid of a Pot
+ Cloud Staff and Hagure Metal Shield
+ Platinum Sword
+ Sword of Ubal
+ Slumber Sword and Stone of Sunlight
+ Magic Shield and Helm of Lone Metal Slime
+ Holy Lance and Shooting Star Armlet
+ Mysterious Hat and Chain Sickle
+ Abacus of Justice and (Oaken) Club
+ Curse-breaking Sword and Rainbow Drop
+ Conqueror's Axe and Evil's Shield
+ Hell Saber and Devil's Tail
+ Staff of Divine Punishment and Iron Claw
+ Metal Babble Sword

Weapons in yellow are being used by Dragon Quest Characters.
Weapons in pink are being used by Non-Dragon Quest Characters.
Weapons in cyan are to be used for a future plan.
The rest are unused weapons and may be used in the distant future.

Weapon Enhancement
I've used some of these weapons to enhance my Dragon Quest VIII Play Arts. Here they are:
+ Hero: Helm and Shield of the Lone Metal Slime; and Metal Babble Sword
+ Jessica: Staff of Divine Punishment and Magic Shield
+ Kukule: Curse-Breaking Sword and Silver Shield (from volume 2)
+ Yangus: Conqueror's Axe (which is fortunately Yangus' ultimate weapon in the Axe category)

I've also enhanced the equipment of non-Dragon Quest characters:
+ Busou Shinki - Xiphos: Holy Lance

My Wishlist
+ Templar Knights' Shield and Holy Silver Rapier - From Volume 3; These are for Kukule.
+ Demon Shield - From Volume 1, This is for Yangus.
+ Roto's Sword, Roto's Helm and Roto's Shield - From Volume 1, These are for Hero.
+ Ultimate Whip - From Volume 2, it comes with the Silver Shield. I also need an extra Silver Shield for Xiphos and the Whip is for Jessica.
+ The first volume in General because they have those awesome little orbs that scintillates in the color of rainbow. XDDD

I pray that I get an extra set of Dragon Quest VIII Play Arts because I'm planning something really cool. But for now, thanks for looking at my new stuffl! :D

UPSKIRT: Kuja, Jun and Mariya

Genesis: "Zetsubo-shitta! Traps in anime always leave me in Despair!"

Dallas: ..............you stole Kamiya Hiroshi's line.

They say, there really is such thing as a man whose beauty can transcend all genders and that loving such men could have your sexuality mistaken. Indeed, I've seen a lot of derogatory remarks relating to such in Sankaku Complex's the entry for Watarase Jun "Delicious Trap Figure." Clearly some people haven't heard of the term "Pansexuality" yet.

Anyways, let's leave their poor biased souls alone. We have bigger and sexier fishes to fry.
And by fishes I'm talking about men deemed as TRAPS as they are mistakable for women with their own natural beauty and charm...or just the way they are drawn.

~ WARNING: Content that may not be suitable for work will follow. You piss off your boss, not my fault. You've been warned. ~

Dissidia Final Fantasy KUJA

Kuja is the primary antagonist of Squaresoft's, now Square-Enix's, Final Fantasy IX released in IIRC 1999. Originally designed by Toshiyuki Itahana and rendered with feminine beauty by Yoshitaka Amano, Kuja is one of the longest-existing traps in Japanese pop culture. Years later, Kuja's voice is seductively portrayed by the Trap master Akira Ishida for Dissidia Final Fantasy.

Some In-game shots follow:

"Kimi no shirabe mou okanade yo!"

"KIETE NAKU NARE!!!"

Worm's Eye View.

Dissidia: Bloodless violence and traps that you can beat the crap out of.

LULZ.

Sadly, the legendary trap Kuja is yet to have an actual statue or action figure. He does have his own gashapon depicting his Trance Form with delicious man/trap boobs.

I don't know what damn moralist laws are blocking Square-Enix from including him in the Final Fantasy IX Play Arts assortment that's due September this year.

But outside the gates of Square-Enix exists two toy companies that have courageously ventured out into making real-detailed PVC statues of two once-newcomers but now-classical traps.

ORCHID SEED'S MARIYA SHIDOU

"Toro! Toro!"

The rather sadistic cross-dressing titular character of the quasi-Catholic-themed Maria+Hollic Anime: Mariya Shidou. He does the trapping job in order to inherit the position being held by his grandma as the head of both the all-girls and all-boys school. It's Something along those vainglorious lines.

Even if he's a trap, Mariya still isn't safe from Japan's favorite feature -- The Upskirt.

Upskirt.

HOLD IT.

For those that are mortified with Mariya's bulky black panchira, Orchid Seed had included a considerable white panchira with the manhood more discreetly sculpted.

Just like a modern-day eunuch...

The Good Source ~ Moeyo!

SOLID THEATER'S WATARASE JUN

Happiness' literally Gayness, Watarase Jun. According to a brief backstory that I read somewhere, Jun dresses like that in order to attract a delicious bishounen whose popular in school.

Jun boasts a rather flirtatious figure compared to the decently-portrayed Mariya Shidou.

Feena Fam Earthlight?
Nope. It's Jun babeh! You've been trapped! XDDD

Unbuttoned dress, hanging bra, wayward pantyhose and...Melon-pantsu.

But most of all, the shot which everyone's waiting for: JUN'S UPSKIRT.

Oh its even BULKIER than Mariya's!

The reliable source -- Moeyo!

One last ~ Special Mention:
Tieria Erde of Gundam 00 whose Statue is being produced by Tamashii Nation's Sukichika.

Now that's one trap that I'd love to fall for. <3

Tieria's upskirt is still unknown as of the moment but with this, Kamiya Hiroshi had cemented himself in the same legendary trap-voicing status as Akira Ishida; with lots of Boy's Love CD roles and not to mention, the iffy Seluvia from Valkyrie Profile II Silmeria.
