Mickey Mouse's Cheesy Day

One day, Mickey found a strip of cheese.

"Oh boy, food!"

He was very hungry. Hungry from fighting Nobodies...

"It's a cheese!"

So he reaches out for the cheese...

"Mmm... it smells gewd!"

...and takes it as soon as he gets there.

"Yummy..."

...and eats it up...

"Mmm! Delicious!"

"Heavenly!"

Until he fell asleep...full and satisfied.

Then, a hungry Cait Sith came looking for food.

"Ohhh a giant mouse! :P~~~"

~ THE END! XD

Adaptations Lose, Parodies Win

Two entries in Sankaku Complex that had interested me in the previous week...

ADAPTATIONS LOSE

Iron Man and Wolverine Anime Trailers.

"Bishie" Wolverine = WTF.

WTF. That's NOT Wolverine! That's some starved "bishounen" whose trying to be Logan!

Field Test Batman (Bee Train) = WIN

The whole Bishie Wolverine isn't as effective as Bee Train's pretty boy Batman from Field Test. It's because Wolverine has been portrayed as badass, downright badass since the start (think of Hugh Jackman!) --- not some rich boy with technology stereotype whose done by Gaijin bishounen Christian Bale.

Telekenetic Bishie vs Iron Man

Sure, the armor install show-off at the beginning is badass.

...but not until we saw the guy inside Iron Man can we only judge it as total win.

PARODIES WIN

IllusionSoft's Dragon Quest Parody is a reverse raep. (NSFW...oh the implications!)

Hot demon guy (the one in 3D CG) whose probably an Uke.

(Image from Sankaku Complex)
We'll call him "Diabolos" for now because I can smell some
Resemblance-Overusage GACKTion Mailed thing again.

There are also some more Dragon Quest Comparison shots in a previous entry. (Fanservice-ridden. Scroll down for the DQ deal. NSFW).

Lightning and Roy Mustang

Hobby Japan Scans for Lightning (Final Fantasy XIII) and Roy Mustang (Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood) Play Arts KAI.

Lightning is 236mm. That puts her around the size of Alphonse Elric Play Arts KAI.

Wowow my, Roy! :D

Densetsu no Yoroi (Dragon Quest Vintage Toys)

K-Mu and I had compiled the information for this toy line a couple of months ago in Tsuki-board's Database.

It's only now that I've decided to write a commentary about this vintage Dragon Quest toyline which was produced by Enix way back in 1993.

Pardon. ^^;

It all started with that curious-looking blog entry in the Official Square-Enix Figure Project Diary depicting the Roto's Armor. This is where that curious-looking blog entry used to be.

At first I thought that Square-Enix will be making a sort of Sochaku Henshin or Busou Shinki line, but turns out to be that one of the marketing employees just dug out an elusive item and couldn't resist but post it in the blog site.

Out of my curiosity; I put up the very image in Tsuki-board's album along with the database entry for Roto's Armor.
Later on; K-Mu, a loyal collector of Saint Seiya Myth Cloth toys in Tsuki-board; commented on the picture of the Roto's Armor. He informs me that it is the first figure of what turns out to be a vintage toy line: 伝説の鎧 (densetsu no yoroi)

The Densetsu no Yoroi or Armor of Legend toyline mainly features the themed Armory of the first three volumes of the Dragon Quest Legend Items Gallery: Roto, Tenkuu no (Zenithian) and Met King.

The first three items consists of an articulated human figure and the normal-colored armor sets which will be later rendered metallic on the seventh to ninth repaint versions.

I will include a comparison with the Legend Items Gallery item if there are any.

CONCLUSION

With more than a decade of time difference between the Enix Densetsu no Yoroi sets (1993) and the Square-Enix Legend Items Gallery series (2003-2006; 2010); we could see real improvement in terms of the paint and plastic quality of the Japanese toy industry.

With the 1990's focusing on the loudness of the gleam of the Metallic paint job and the "Monobloc" (think of the chairs) look of the normal paint job. 2000's on the other hand had focused on blending more than 100 layers of paint, giving the wood real wooden effect, lessening the loudness of the gleam on the metallic paint job but making it look more like steel; but the best improvement is that they had learned to blend opaque and translucent elements.

DRAGON QUEST BANZAI!!!

XDDD
